Research Description:

Breeding improved cultivars in bermudagrass, swithchgras and other grass species for Oklahoma and regional stakeholders.

Acquisition and characterization of grass germplasm for use as turf, forage and as feedstocks for producing biofuel in selected grass species.

Enhancement of breeding materials using well established breeding strategies.

Developing new molecular strategies and enhancing grass breeding effectiveness.

Characterization of genetic mechanisms associated with important traits by molecular tools and field experimentation methods.
